Playful Places Network

The Playful Places Network is run by a small group of volunteers with a mission to:

  • To help promote the understanding and use of play – to enable more playful and joyful lives in cultural and heritage venues
  • To promote the universal engagement of families and children in public cultural life, as a way to improve access to our shared heritage and culture(s).

We run a monthly lunchtime talk programme, and are aiming to run an in-person annual event from 2024. You can see our talks programme listings by clicking on the button below.

Playful Places community

Being part of a network of supportive people has been invaluable to our own development of play at the zoo. It has been an opportunity for us to share our practice, as well as to get feedback and new ideas. Joining meetings provides protected time where we can just ony focus on play without distraction or interruptions. I really encourage anyone interested in play to get involved and come along to our events.
